Although this is a clean read, the subject matter - human trafficking - is not for all ages. I appreciate the way the author presented his story (complete with informative and alarming statistics) in a non-salacious, non-sensationalized manner.
Exciting and Enlightening.
This was actually a really good novel--admittedly better than I thought it was going to be. It was sharply written, witty, suspenseful, exciting, and enlightening. In the book, the author had a horrific fact about human trafficking at the start of every chapter. I couldn't believe some of them. I admit, Before I got into the narrative, I scrolled through each chapter to read each of these horrific facts. The human trafficking industry is an absolutely abhorrent one--there's nothing really that sets me off more. Ghost Dog was a book written very well--very sharp and clean as a novel should be. I admit, it was a little funny to see filtered words such as "fudge bucket". I don't think I've ever seen a word like that used in a book before. But that's not the only thing that isolates this book from many other crime thrillers out there. This novel pulled me in right away and was very captivating from start to finish. It's what you'd call a "can't put it down" novel. It's very exciting and is sure to capture any fan of the genre's interest. People should definitely puck this one up!
